U.S. Passback Program
"SHARE THE EQUIPMENT, SHARE THE GAME!"
The Passback Program is one of the cornerstones of the U.S. Soccer Foundation (the Major Charitable Arm of Soccer in the United States). It provides a unique opportunity for individuals and organizations such as Performance Soccer to reach out to their communities and give back. Not only do we work together to collect new and gently used soccer equipment, we can see our joint efforts pay off as we distribute gear to children and adults who may otherwise be unable to play our wonderful sport. Each year we will raise the stakes for the amount of equipment collected and distributed through the Program. 2009 was a great year for the Passback Program, in which they collected and distributed an astounding 129,165 pieces of equipment! This accomplishment was due in no small part to the efforts of the Passback Stars. The dedication of the programs Stars (organizations) has allowed the program to enrich lives through soccer and provide desperately needed equipment to hundreds of people who don't have the means to get equipment on their own. Since 2002, Passback has collected and distributed 670,425 pieces of equipment. However, there is always more that can be done. My hope is that we can set up successful collections in our local communities throughout the year and have our local communities help us reach our ultimate goal of collecting and distributing a million pieces of equipment!
What To Donate
Passback new and gently used soccer equipment - equipment that is not ruined, torn, or excessively dirty. For many kids, having used gear is better than having none at all, so really anything that could be used again will be acceptable. This includes jerseys, shorts, shin guards, socks, cleats, balls, bags, warm-ups, water bottles, etc. Jerseys do not have to be in complete sets, and it doesn't matter if they have logos or numbers on them. Balls do not have to be deflated.
